Situated between the ocean and the mountains, the University of British Columbia (UBC) has one of the most beautiful campuses in North America. Explore participants at UBC learn and practise language skills (vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, etc.) in an inclusive environment and with a focus on collaborative learning and student engagement. Current issues in local and global contexts drive communication throughout the course. The classes focus on the teaching of language skills and the workshops provide opportunities for practising English through interactive activities. The program also includes a sociocultural component, which offers opportunities to practise speaking English outside the classroom. The Explore program at UBC is a unique opportunity to discover the west coast and make friendships that will last a lifetime!
