The online summer program at the UBC English Language Institute provides the same curriculum as our on-campus program in a format that is convenient for those who choose to study virtually. Explore participants at UBC learn and practise language skills (vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, etc.) in an inclusive environment and with a focus on collaborative learning and student centered teaching. 

Students from different parts of Canada will come together in online classes to improve their English-language skills while exploring the rich culture and diverse communities of Canada’s west coast. Current themes in local and global contexts drive teaching and learning throughout the course. The full-time Explore program at UBC consists of predominantly synchronous lessons supported by asynchronous learning.
